Favorite moment of driving trip:
Mrs. Ellermann- "Irene, can you see where we are on the GPS on my phone? We should be very close to Jackson, WI". (We needed to pick up Tyler).
Irene- "Sure, I only see places like Oshkosh and Sheboygan to our north."
Mrs. Ellermann- "Just look a little north of us. It is really close. I am sure."
Irene- "Ahh, Mrs. Ellermann, we sort of passed Jackson about 15 minutes ago. It is south of us now."
Come to find out. The exit was closed due to construction and they covered the Jackson sign. This is why we missed it. Why do they do that?
We arrived in Green Bay just before noon with lunch waiting for us. After a quick tour of their church and school, it was time to work.
Then off to canvasing the neighborhood (for a couple hours) to invite everyone to the upcoming sports camp. We split up into small groups and put invitations on each door. Our favorite door message read: Our doorbell is broke, please knock and yell "ding, dong" really loud.
Once we completed our mission of spreading the word, we jumped in the cars to head to the COUNTRY. It was a beautiful setting with rolling hills, trees, and fields.
Allie stated, "This is amazing. I have never seen anything like this."
Mrs. Ellermann- "Allie, have you have been out in the country before?"
Allie- "Apparently not!"
We pulled up to the Petersen Farm (a member at St. Paul's). The farm house was built in the early 1900s. The view from the barn was spectacular. We jumped in an old 1946 jeep and golf cart to explore the 80 acres and more. There were trails everywhere with a river at the bottom. The girls ran out of gas towards the end and needed to push the golf cart back. Allie was voted worst driver of the bunch on the golf cart. They also had an extremely fun "old school" merry-go-round.
I will post a couple more pictures of us canvassing and the old jeep once I figure out how to get them off my phone.
